A warm wintry punch, complete with mulled spices and fruits. Relax with this drink in front of a cozy fire and it will surely put you in a festive mood!
MAKES 4 SERVINGS
INGREDIENTS
24oz water **
** To make it a cocktail: use 12oz water + 12oz red wine
cinnamon sticks, star anise, orange slices, apple slices (for garnish, optional)
METHOD
Bring water (and red wine, if using) to a simmer in a large saucepan along with the Mulled Wine herbal tisane, brown sugar, orange slices, and red apple slices.
Let simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Use a large strainer over a bowl, and strain to remove all the solid ingredients.
Let the drink cool down at room temp and then chill in the refrigerator until you're ready to serve.
To Serve: divide equally among 4 fluted glasses filled halfway with ice. Top off each glass with sparkling water and stir to mix. Garnish with cinnamon sticks, star anise, orange slices, and apple slices.
